About

Nick & RJ are passionate creators. As directors and choreographers, their diversity and knack for melding classical movement with current dance expression has carried them from the worlds of ballet and Broadway, to iconic performances in television, film, music videos and world tours such as: P!nk’s gravity defying performance of Beautiful Trauma at the 2017 American Music Awards; the Emmy winning Super Bowl XLIX halftime show starring Katy Perry, Lenny Kravitz, and Missy Elliott; the cinematic video for Beauty and the Beast with Arianna Grande and John Legend; and Kelly Clarkson’s soulful and explosive Love So Soft music video.

Madonna launched Nick & RJ into choreographing for the world stage, enlisting their vision on her record breaking Confessions and Sticky & Sweet Tours. This further ignited their desire to meld pop culture with cutting edge theatrics for world tours. Nick & RJ worked closely with P!nk (The Truth About Love Tour, Beautiful Trauma Tour), and Katy Perry (California Dreams & Prismatic Tours), as well as Cirque Du Soleil (Immortal Michael Jackson Tour), Ricky Martin (MAS Tour), Spice Girls (The Reunion Tour), Celine Dion (Taking Chances Tour), and Keyshia Cole (A Different Me Tour). Both the Prismatic Tour and The Truth About Love Tour were awarded Pollstar’s “Most Creative Production” award. P!nk’s Truth About Love Tour, which aired on Epix and received a Grammy nomination for “Best Music Film”.

As creative producers, Nick & RJ’s innovative visual direction can be seen on television shows including Radio Disney Music Awards, and XQ Super School Live! which aired simultaneously on ABC, NBC, FOX, and CBS. Dancing With The Stars enlisted Nick & RJ to conceptualize original dance performances, which captured the attention of Lady Gaga who tweeted, “Dancing With The Stars had an amazing performance of Heavy Metal Lover last night. Glamour!”, and P!nk, who also chimed in, “So F’ing Amazing!!”. Both of these performances were nominated for industry awards, winning a 2014 World Choreography Award for “Best Live Television Performance”. Translating P!nk’s music video for Try into a live performance for the American Music Awards also won Nick & RJ an Industry Voice Award for “Favorite Choreography in a Live Television Performance.”

For Nick & RJ, a love for music and pop culture is shared equally with a love for musicals. Nick & RJ directed and choreographed their own mini-movie-musical for P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma with Channing Tatum, receiving rave reviews from the likes of Variety, Rolling Stone, Billboard, and Entertainment Weekly. Katy Perry’s Dark Horse music video also plays out like a modern day Cleopatra musical and has garnered over 2 billion views. For Disneyland’s 60th Anniversary Special on ABC, they re-imagined “Step In Time” from Mary Poppins featuring Dick Van Dyke and Derek Hough, putting a fresh spin on this classic which also received a 2017 World Choreography Award for “Outstanding Choreography in a Television Award Show/Special.” Nick and RJ continue to expand their vision and direction for film, music videos, Broadway, television, and world tours.
